Hi,
Exactly which .MP4 are you having trouble with?
More details are required.

T'is very doubtful if anyone is going to D/L the video.
Never know what it may contain.
Sorry.

Better first check with a smaller one than your example: indoor-dog-boarding.mp4

Hmm that 14 seconds long video file is HEVC for video format, FFHEVC for Video Codec and has a Video Bitrate of 99899 Kb/5 according to gnome mplayer.

If this file is H.265 then it is not supported as Mozilla's focus is on AV1

For reading as Bugzilla is not a discussion forum like here. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/page.cgi?id=etiquette.html

Bug#1332136 H.265/HEVC Streaming not working

Indoor-dog-boarding MP4 (above) played fine. If Edge can play it then, why not FF? In this case Edge has the edge and that's no pun.
about:config /media.mp4.enable/false is a work around. Now I can open it. Mozilla should address this issue, however.

Thank you

I found an addon that changes FF to Edge. It is similar to the old Firefox to IE addon of pre-Australis days.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... e-browser/
That solves the problem for all FF anomalies.

Much easier then downloading a 175 MB file, Embedded h265/HEVC Video.

First clip even says, "Most modern browsers dont support h265/HEVC format yet!".
Second clip says, "The WebM Format should be supported by Chrome and Firefox", yet still fails in FF.

And while FF does support .webm, what they are calling webm sure seems to be .mkv container (which FF does not support) with a VP8 ? clip within.
(AFAIK .webm only supports VP8 & VP9. So just what this so called .webm is supposed to be, I've no clue.)

MDN: Web video codec guide

Also note:
Internet Explorer and Edge only supports HEVC on devices with a hardware codec
IOW, Edge, on Win7, probably will not play HEVC (only on Win10).

Where are you finding websites that have embedded h265 clips?

That just opens the link in the Edge web browser as it does not change Fx into Edge. If an Microsoft Edge instance is already opened, then link is opened in a new browser tab (in Edge), however, if Microsoft Edge is not opened, a new Microsoft Edge window is opened.

It does exactly what I want it to do. It opens a window in Edge when FF misbehaves-captchas, HEVC mp4 files, etc. Thus, giving me full access.
This addon should be promulgated and not sequestered.
