Eliminate attachment delete confirmation

Post by WV-Mike »

When I am deleting attachments I get this for each and every delete action:

"The following attachments will be permanently deleted from this message:
***.***
This action cannot be undone. Do you wish to continue"

How can I prevent this?
I am deleting 100s of attachments and this prompt is getting very annoying.

I'm not aware of a setting to eliminate the prompt. You could right click on the attachments summary (rather than the attachment) and chose "delete all", meaning you get one prompt per message rather than one prompt per attachment.

Take a look at the new version of the atatchment extractor add-on at https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/th ... ed/?src=ss . It supports deleting them for all selected messages in one step but there is some question whether that works correctly. Note that there is no plan to support it for version 78.

Thanks, I will give the add-on a try.

AttachmentExtractor worked fine for me.
I saved all the attachments to a folder then deleted them from the email messages.
