TB keeps updating although option chosen to

hi there

I am running win 10 desktop and TB version 68.11.0

I have the option checked to check for updates but to let me choose whether or not to install them.

But when I restart or start TB it automatically installs a new version.

The problem for me is that I have TB ver 68.11.0 on my principal desktop, and when I do a hekasoft backup and try to restore it on my reserve computer a laptop, it doesnt work because the laptop now has a later version.

How do I stop the laptop TB version from installing please?

On the laptop I go to About TB, and it says currently on release update channel, and there is a button that says "restart to update TB"

On the desktop, going to About TB, it says I am currently on the release update channel, and there is a button that says "update to 68.12.0" but it doesn't which is my preference because of backup and restore issues

I renamed the file to old maintenanceservice.exe

There is another file called maintenanceservice _installer.exe
Should I rename that also?

Although I have the option selected on the laptop to allow TB to downlaod updates but to ask me if I want to install it, the TB never the less went ahead and installed the latest version irregardless to version 68.12.0

Thankfully this is the same version as my desktop computer

I'll see what happens when I do the hekasoft back up and try to do the restore on the laptop <smiles>

I would change that file name to maintenanceserviceexe.old so that Windows will not see that as an executable file.
