add url to list of search shortcuts?

It turns out, there is a snopyta invidious addon search
engine for firefox. Let us say there was not. Can you add an
url to the search shortcut list? Like
invidious.snopyta.org
In the firefox search box you would then click
search. Click an invidious.snopyta.org icon
and then click submit search. It would then open the
invidious.snopyta.org website. You
would not be able to enter something in
the search box and make a search directly. Thank you.

You would need the install file for most search engines.
Just adding the url to someplace like user.js or about:config doesn't work.
If you can't find the install file you can add the url as a bookmark on the bookmarks toolbar.

The site has auto-discovery. While on the site (https://search.snopyta.org/), click the Page Actions menu button (***) in the address bar and add its search engine plugin from there.

That is how I should have described it. A
bookmark added to the search shortcut
list. And that cannot be done?
