So far Nightly has crashed every time I attempted to open chat.mozilla.org in a new tab.

Everyone who is running Nightly (unless disabled -- I believe there is a setting to opt out of experiments) should get the experiment. But, IIRC, only half of the profiles get the version set to 100.

Just go into about:config and change it manually. They asked people to do it manually before they made it an experiment.
