Hi everyone. Was wondering if you guys can assist me, as I've run out of ideas. I use Thunderbird for a work email. Recently, after being prompted to change the password, I cleared the both saved passwords (SMTP and LDAP). After changing the password, I logged back into Thunderbird, but was only prompted for the LDAP password. I was not prompted for the SMTP password and thunderbird just says "connected to *name of work email server*". However, when I try to send a message, I get the following error message: "Sending of the message failed. SSL peer was unable to negotiate an acceptable set of security parameters. The configuration related to the *work email server* must be corrected".

I checked all the SMTP settings and port settings and still can't seem to find the problem. Any suggestions?

That looks like the 'peer unsupported' error due to the mail server not configured with a version of TLS that is required by TB 78+. ... l-messages
