Can't get online with Firefox

Post by Help! »

Simply put, I can't get online using Firefox.

This happened last night. It was working fine until I closed the browser and then restarted it. I did not turn off or restart my computer, just the browser.

I was having some problems before this, fonts that should not have been used for typing message on message boards were being selected by Firefox for my defaults. Weird because I did not select them.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled, and upgraded to the latest version of Firefox. Still I can't get online. The only extension I was using on Firefox was the weather forecaster. I am writing this message using IE, that browser works fine.

I have also tried to get online by using Firefox in "safe mode". Still nothing.

Any help on this is greatly appreciated.

Check your firewall to make sure something didn't happen there to deny Firefox access...

I'm using ZoneAlarm and always have it ask me for permission to go online. And I click "yes" so it can go online, but now it doesn't.

Here's a link that shows you step by step how to configure ZoneAlarm:

BTW, I use ZA and tell it to 'always allow' Firefox access to the internets, not just for the current browser session. That would drive me nuts...

Thanks for the advice but I'd rather have it the way I've configured it. It's not such a hassle to just click "yes", it's easier than dialing up every time, and prevents something from being hijacked.

Either way I still can't get online using Firefox.

Try creating a new profile(don't delete the old one): http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/profile#new
If the problem doesn't exist when running a clean profile, then do this: http://the-edmeister.home.comcast.net/t ... _data.html
