I always thought 'Basilisk' sounded cool.
Here's another idea for changing the spelling. 'Phenyx' or maybe 'Pheonyx'.

That's lizard in finnish. Probably derivative of basilisk.
Hey, while I'm on it, maybe a better one would be Sisilisko, that's the small and quick lizard that can drop off its' tail in a tight place.

Raptor - would be nice, but it would also mean looking for trouble with Symantec. It's also the name of the successor to the F15 Eagle...
