Firefox 1.0.6, Onspeed, 405 Method Not Allowed

Post by Matt5billion »

I just installed Firefox 1.0.6 and I can no longer access any websites like http://gmail.google.com or hotmail.com. I get the error message '405 Method Not Allowed'.

I am using Onspeed which operates by proxy and my settings on Firefox are

Manual ProxyConfiguration
HTTP Proxy: 127.0.0.1 Port: 5400

I have the box ticked which says 'Use the same proxy for all protocols'.

I had this problem before when I first got Firefox, and it was solved by just selecting the box 'automatically detect proxy settings', but now when I do that I can't access any websites at all.
Another weird thing is that on Internet Explorer I am having the same trouble with the 405 error, that has never happened before.

Can anyone help me out? This is really frustrating.
Thanks

What kind of internet connection? DIALUP, DSL, CABLE? I think your proxy is causing the problem.

Dial up.

How can I stop using Onspeed and just see if it will work on its own? When I change my connection settings to 'Direct Connection to the Internet' I cannot go to any websites at all.

It's not a problem with my connection as things like MSN Messenger are working fine.

Take a look at the very top sticky note. I think your firewall is the problem. What is ONSPEED anyway ?
