is there a keyboard shortcut to close all tabs and to close all other tabs? don't see in help file.

Ctrl+Shift+W or Alt+F4 will close the window, I don't think you can have a tab-less Firefox.

Close all other tabs can't be done afaik, unless you use an extension (There is one that lets you re-map the shortcuts, but I forget what it's called).

Close all other tabs can be done from a right-click on a tab.
