Importing AOL pfc email - even mbx would do! Is it possible?
The only way I can think of to import old AOL email from their 'orrible pfc format is to convert to mbx via aoldump....but now I can't find how to import mbx into Thunderbird! Any ideas? thanks!

You shouldn't have to import mbox for Thunderbird. Thunderbird USES mbox. Create a local folder in Thunderbird called AOLMail. Now close Thunderbird and move the converted pfc file, now in mbox format, to that folder on your hard drive. (See this URL for info on where your Profile folder will be found on the operating system you are using -- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Folder
When you open Thunderbird after moving the file it should see that as a valid message file and create an index for it, making the messages visible in TB.
If that doesn't work you may have to try installing the mBoxImport extension -- http://www.extensionsmirror.nl/index.php?showtopic=2074
