Search bar screwy?

Post by neilio »

I've been getting reports on my site from people having issues with the search bar not working with the latest builds - apparently it works with the official nightly?

I have no idea as I use neither the search bar or the official nightly. :) Any thoughts?

I'm certainly noticing it with my homemade G4 build, but I didn't notice anything on my G5 builds. From memory, it's still working, but I'll check later to be sure (I'm away from my G5 now). Thanks for the heads up, been kinda occupied with other crap recently ;)

I am also having issues with the search bar on my G5. None of the default engines are there and I can't add other engines, so essentialy no searching from the search bar for now. This includes the official beta and drumsticks build.

Same here...

Ditto here. I posted to the BeatnikPad blog that there seems to be another report of a similar problem several weeks old - but that was the only similiar mention that I could find.

Looks like elfurbe (who builds G3/G4 Firefox) is having similar problems as well. I can't seem to find the bug in bugzilla. Anyone filed a bug yet?

Perhaps a 10.4.3 bug?

I think you are right. It seems to have started after I loaded 10.4.3. on my G5. The seach bar does work in 1.0.7 though.

I suspect, though I'm not sure how to prove it... Builds made on machines earlier than 10.4.3 won't run on 10.4.3. Apple must've changed something in XCode. My new builds seem to run fine for me...

Same here - happened after I upgraded to 10.4.3 (haven't been updating to nightly Fx's recently)
