Thanks for the quick update. The size is now 11K instead of 3K. (The language bundle added a lot of space)

Language Menu 0.4 is out.

The file size is now 7K.

Added support for Swedish and Portuguese, which means that I should now cover the languages of almost all of the countries that people have vistied my site from. I still need info from people in Eastern European countries on what languages to add.

Also added a "Recent Languges" menu that shows the last 5 selected languages for easy selection.

Total Languages Supported : 24
- Arabic
- Armenian
- Chinese
- Croatian
- English
- Esperanto
- French
- Georgian
- German
- Hebrew
- Hindi
- Icelandic
- Italian
- Japanese
- Korean
- Portuguese
- Romanian
- Russian
- Spanish
- Swedish
- Thai
- Turkish
- Ukrainian

Oh, and there's a typo, it's 25 languages not 24. You have all 25 listed, but you said 24 in the description. No biggie, just letting ya know. :)

well our php script can't count the number of extensions we have listed, so I don't see how it really matters if we can't count either ;)

Added Czech and a better installer. I still haven't implemented all of the other languages, but that is next on my todo list. Unfortunatly, between my paying job and my family I haven't had much time to work on this recently.

LanguageMenu 0.6 is out and it now supports 437 languages and has 249 language packs available with localized language names. All of my translation was done by using the OpenI18N project's XML locale data : http://www.openi18n.org/subgroups/lade/locale/index.htm .

List of supported languages is available here : http://www.vaelen.org/cgi-bin/vaelen/va ... emenu-info
Language Packs are available here : http://www.vaelen.org/cgi-bin/vaelen/va ... guagepacks
Installer is here : http://www.vaelen.org/languagemenu/languagemenu.xpi

(Please notice new install location. Old location still works for now though)

I could really use some testers to let me know if the language packs work properly.

0.7 is out. It's a bugfix release which fixes the language bundles as well as support for non-Latin characters in the "Recent Languages" list.

Just in case it can be useful for this kind of language-related projects (although maybe not much for this Mozilla Firebird language menu extension, because it already supports 437 languages), through the advanced search of AlltheWeb it's possible to research and write (with patience) a list of languages by number of web pages (included in AlltheWeb, one of the largest search engines).

The search can be for only the language or also with http in the URL, with the same results. I think they should include some more languages like Hindi, etc., but this is the list that I've just written today:

Principal Languages of the Internet
(by number of web pages, 2003-09-08)

All languages: 3,029,982,341
