The future former Phoenix may indeed be the "best of browsers", but unfortunately the name "Bob" has already been used for an absolutely awful Microsoft program a few years ago. It was a suite of integrated apps (not unlike Works) with a thoroughly hideous, dumbed-down interface. It was the Edsel of computer software.

I did a search in google on the top five names that I had counted earlier ... here are some stats
Sphinx http://www.sphinxsoftware.com/
Firebird http://www.firebird.net/
Fox http://www.fox.ro/
Phox
Discovery http://www.discoverysoft.com/
Ion http://www.ionsoftware.co.uk/
Athena http://www.athenavisual.com/default.htm
Px http://www.pxsoftware.com/
Dragonfly http://www.dfly.com/
Xulu http://www.xulusoft.com/content.cfm?cont_uid=3
Almost all the names in the top list are existing names of different types of software...
I guess we will need a name like they name some of the celestial bodies ....
Browser No. 4MG.128 which would stand for 4th browser from the Mozilla Gecko 128 bit engine...

Linux + Firebird + gtk2 + XFT is neat.

no we don't. here's an example why:
the only reason we can't use names is if they are trademarked for a BROWSER sort of software.

Is that convincing enough? It's a shame, I would have liked it.
What does a relational database have to do with a web browser. Trademark law says that there has to be customer confusion before you have a problem. The chances of someone confusing a web browser and a relational database are about as slim as someone confusing a loaf of bread and a bananna.
