These are still in the RH8 (Yek) directory on pryan's site, but I've moved along from Redhat 8 to Redhat 9 as of last week. Builds are similar to before, including DOMi and Venkman (JSD), as well as the usual XFT and GTK2.

Optimized for AthlonXP + SSE.

Not much new today, but this build seems nice and solid so far.

Started making thunderbird builds optimized as are these. Today's build announement is in thunderbird builds forum as will all other's be after this.

Hi, Those are some built-in extensions enabled during the build. DOMi (Document Object Model Inspector) shows the structure of a given tab or site. You can invoke it blank and load it yourself from the Tools/Dom menu, or you can get the tab context you're in by using <ctrl-shift-I>.

JSD or Venkman is the javascript debugger, which is also available as an extension. You can either bring that up from the DOM menu's or you can use this url on the tab you're in "x-jsd:debugger".

Good luck, and let me know what part of it fails lol :) That's my first Redhat 9 build of any type.

Well it works somehow -minor bugs on rendering and one major : If choose Options from menu , when you click
the OK button , the Options window stays so i'm stuck with default options

Thanks for trying it :), and also for the bug reports. The options / ok problem is something that I've had in several builds (on various OS's and from various people) over the last couple weeks, but for now the workaround (when that happens) is to hit ok, then cancel.

*edit* http://www.squarefree.com/burningedge/ shows this info as of yesterday (although there appears to be a checkin last night): "OK button in Options doens't work if you select an incompatible theme". I don't know which themes are compatible, but I'm fairly sure the most recently updated ones would be. I've been using 'skypilot' without that problem for awhile.

What kind of rendering problems, just so I can check into it?

Mariuz:: That's pretty strange but no worse than a few of the so called standard w3c tests I've tried. I just cut and pasted them into a directory and tried them on this old build since I've been too busy to make new ones (090903).

So, is the formatting problem unique to this build, or is it in any build? I guess I can try that out. I use one of aeb's over on win2k. If you look over at that long performance thread which is probably on the first 2 pages of this forum, and try some of the tests from my posts, you'll find a lot more errors that're either similar or .. much worse lol.

*update* -- I tried it on aebrahim's build of a few weeks ago on win2k. The problem also is there. I also tried an official build, so its just another firebird quirk. I tried it on IE6 and although it was still slightly strange, it looked much more reasonable.

Updated the top post and topic to reflect today's 12Sep2003 build. Also put a post in thunderbird builds forum for my first tbird build. I didn't realize it could be built out of the same tree with a pull on mailnews. Download link for Firebird is in the top post in this thread.
