What is 'Yahoo Application State Plugin'?

Post by Tom B. »

When I bring up my plugins info page (about:plugins), I see an entry entitled 'Yahoo Application State Plugin'. I'd never seen this before recently.

Googling doesn't bring up anything promising. Any ideas as to what this is?

Yahoo Application State Plugin

File name: npYState.dll

MIME Type: application/x-vnd.yahoo.applicationState

You install or update Yahoo Messenger perhaps? Or add the Yahoo toolbar?

Yahoo! Messenger was already installed prior my recent Firefox reinstallation. Yahoo! Toolbar has never been installed.

Perhaps Firefox just picked up the app link when installed, I don't know...
Read here to see what all it appears the Yahoo.Application STate may be used for.

Hrm. I'll have to take note of this one, and try and dig up some information about it. Can't have it not listed on PluginDoc, can I?
