Unicode characters in paths

I have a file at:

c:\documents and settings\user\desktop\√\file.html

I can't get Firefox to load it. Opera can.

I also can't do (and either can opera):

firefox.exe "c:\documents and settings\user\desktop\√\file.html"

In both cases, the √ gets converted to a v.

WinXP
Firefox 1.5

The command line parameter part isn't that big of a deal (although it is possible to fix it), but the first could be a big deal.

Firefox can't recognize file√123.txt either.

I can however use teh dos version of the path and filename to get Firefox to load it.

For example, I can load up cmd.exe and do dir /X to list dos versions of the filename.

The √ directory has a dos name of A122~1, which Firefox can recognize at least partly.

However, Firefox's unicode support needs to be improved.
