When I try to re-install Firefox I get a " -202access_denied " error message.
When I try delete a previous version I get a " nsextension manager js:data error (cyclic redundancy check) " error message.
Any ideas?

How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Getting back to your " -202access_denied " error, Make sure you are installing Firefox as a user with administrative privileges as was mentioned earlier.
If you still get the error, make sure the installation directory (for example, C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox) is empty and that the install path is valid if you are doing a custom install.
P.S. A quick forum search on your error came up with:

In the above cases removing the Program Files\Mozilla Firefox folder before installing did the trick.
