Thundertray has just been updated to version 0.7.5. A couple of minor reported bugs and feature requests have been incorporated in this version.

( note: points to version 0.7.5, version 0.7.1 is now at http://www.protonfx.com/download/thundertray071.zip )

Great work. However, has anyone tried this little freeware. It works great with everything I'm using. Please don't take offense, but it really isn't necessary to write an extension specifically for TB when this will work across the board. At least for me.

Cool site !!! http://www.protonfx.com/ I realy like the "Powered by Notepad" stamp on right top.
But I did not see any source code. Why not contribute your code to Mozilla.org

Thundertray is currently not featured on the protonfx site, it is merely hosted there. Thundertray is currently freeware, not open-source thus the source code has not been contributed to Mozilla.org.

Why not make it open-source.

I'm having troubles using thundertray.

I installed thundertray last week and everything worked fine. But today it isn't working anymore after running some windows updates (I don't know if this is the cause because I didn't try thundertray today before running the updates).

After starting thundertray, double clicking the thundertray icon starts thunderbird. But if I minimize thunderbird it isn't minimized to the system tray. It's just minimized to the taskbar. Also, thundertray seems to think that thunderbird isn't started because it's tooltip still says it is 'inactive'.

I'm using
- Windows XP pro
- Thunderbird 0.3 (20030924)
- Thundertray 0.7.5

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Would it be possible to add a "Compose" option to the tray icon?
This way i don't have to open thunderbird to write a new email.

Yeah, that one is on my personal wishlist too. Don't be too surprised if it pops up in a future release.

I changed some stuff in 0.7.5 which may make it stop working right (though it isn't suppose to do that of course). Can you confirm that v0.7.1 does work correctly on your system?

It may become open source some day, but I currently cannot release the code as is because I use various routines of some of other (non-open source) applications. In order to release the full source I would need to replace these routines and I currently have too little time to do so.

Parameter -launchhide has no effect with v7.1 nor with v7.5

I'm running Windows 2K Pro SP4 (French) and ThunderBird 0.2 (20030901)

Keep up the good work ;)

Try the new version 0.7.6 - I've fixed some pretty significant stuff in that version, maybe it will solve the minimize problem too.

Sorry, it is not much better now.

I can start TT, launch TB (it is hidden by then). The context menu remains Start TB/Exit TT.
A double-click on the icon shows TB, but minimizing does not hide the window in the taskbar.
Sometimes, when I click the taskbar entry twice or mor times rapidly, the window disappears.
But I can't get it up again, double-clicking the tray icon does not help.

(WinXP SP1, TB 0.2)
