request external editor such as vim to view html source

Post by maxiangjiang »

This is a wish.

I wish we can specify external editor to view source from within FB.
Even IE can offer such feture by hacking regedit.

I found http://mozex.mozdev.org/ is a nice extension for such purpose,
but it would be nice this feature is built-in, for "view page source" popup
dropdown mean.

Thanks

A lot of features would be nice as a built-in feature for many people.
A lot of features are of no interest at all for many people, and those do want to keep Firebird as light as possible.

Then, the answer is "extensions" : everyone is then able to have a firebird in his own fashion, and the neighbour is not bloated with feature he doesn't want ;)

Vim is great

do more for less

Actually, this wish is kind of "do more for less".
Instead of asking FB to handle "view source" though its built-in feature,
I am asking an external editor to do it, as IE does.

The existing build-in feature for viewing source can be then moved to
extension, thus making FB light and fast.
