Create a folder to archive .xpi and .jar.:

Click "Automatically Save installed Extensions and Themes":

When you come to a theme or extension you want to install, right click it and click "Archive XPI" or Archive JAR":

I've done it this way and have saved all my extensions.

You no longer have to go to AMO and/or the authors' site as you'll have themes and extensions available to install locally should something happen to your profile or should development of a particular theme/extension stop.

thank you soo much for posting this ;)

Progress in much easier to see in that position.

Just a thought

The archive process is currently the only reason I haven't removed the statusbar-display panel. The only other things it's useful for to me, connection status and link hovering, are moved into the Location Bar by Fission (or rather copied, I still get duplicate text in the statusbar panel so long as it's not hidden, hence why I would want to hide it), so now I only have to keep that thing around to see the archive status on updates, or else there is no indication that anything is happening at all (which can be rather annoying).

hmmm, let me ponder this one and see if I can come up with something that works from the main page "Archive ..." context menu and from the EM/TM/Addons window, will see if I can plan something.

Hi Mr. Tech

I love your extension!

I want to suggest a little improvement: A change in the mr tech prefrences from "don't show item xxx" checkboxes to only "show item xxx" checkboxes.
For me (and I think most other people) that would be easier to grasp (especially since those two types of checkboxes are currently mixed - that makes it confusing)

Mr Tech Local Install won't update past 4.6.3 if your Firefox extensions and config registries have become corrupted. I've written a procedure to rebuild them here: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=2254482

Or...You could just edit the extensions.rdf file yourself and delete the extension manually.

They'll both work for Tech Local's case. Mine will work with anything. (Caveat: my instructions do not detail backing up tab or theme settings & the like; I generally expect that people who have those sorts of things installed already know how to reconfigure them.)

I've seen this with the 2.0 branch build and some themes, I need to redo some things here to get this to work universally, thanks.
