I can't get any of my extensions to install. I've downloaded the most popular ones and top rated ones such as FoxyTunes, Wizz RSS, and Forecastfox. None of them install after I restart firefox. What is going wrong here?

Currently have same problem since firefox locked up my computer 2 night ago. My current extensions work fine and I can update them, but am unable to install any new ones. Tried installing it from website and also dl it and installing it from my comp.
My advise and what I'll be doing next time I have some time on my hands: uninstall it completely (including deleting firefox folder and temporary files) and then re-install. Then, try out that new extension that saves ur profile settings so u can revert to that next time it happens. On this new computer I have had it lock up or crash out 3x and each time it reverts my firefox and extensions back to original settings (i lose everything), so will be puttin that on it as soon as i get this problem fixed.

I have reinstalled and it still doesn't work. I didn't delete the Firefox folder though. I'm going to try that.

I tried the about:config thing and that was already set correctly.

If they stay at "... will be installed ..." find your profile folder and delete extensions.ini , extensions.rdf and extensions.cache while FF is closed.

Wheres the default location for the profile folder? I must not be deleting it because my prefs stay exactly the same when I reinstall firefox..

Default: C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox
It is a folder hidden by windows by default.
Easiest way: Type "%APPDATA%" in Start -> Run

For me, there are specific extensions that will not update...I click "update now", it installs, says it will be enabled when I restart, but then when I restart it says "update now" all over again...the 3 are:

DownloadThemAll!
NoScript
Yahoo Mail Notifier

All other extensions update fine...I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the extensions but the same thing happens...
