RealPlayer 10.1.0 crasher Camino but not Firefox

Post by dryeburn »

I have successfully been using RealPlayer 10.0.0 build 352 with Camino 1.0 (2006021400). Today I downloaded RealPlayer 10.1.0. I checked a number of RealPlayer sites and each one crashed Camino. But these sites did not crash Firefox 1.5.0.2. I then restored RealPlayer 10.0.0 build 352 and verified that, using it, Camino behaved correctly. Any explanation?

Yep, I can confirm this. I'm in the process of filing a new bug on it. I'm pretty sure this is Real's problem, not ours, but it still makes Camino look bad.

Yay for QA before a product release. I wonder if anyone at Real has even *heard* of Camino.

If you're crashing on the trunk using the older RealPlayer, that's bug 336061; please don't get the two confused.

A new version (build 412) was released today and it seems that it addresses the problems with Gecko.

It addresses the problem Real had with Camino release builds.

It has NOT addressed the problem (bug 336061) with trunk builds that's due to the funky locale we currently report.
