I can't uninstall with add/remove or the uninstall application from the mozilla uninstall folder. Why and what can I do?

No idea why, but see this guide <a href="http://kb.mozillazine.org/Uninstalling_Firefox">Uninstalling Firefox</a>

Just ignore the add/remove part. What OS are you on? Service packs? Have you had other versions of Firefox?

I'm on an IBM Thinkpad running Windows Me on which the hard drive was erased and all software with updates re-installed. I started out using version 1.0.7, but that doesn't matter since I had just done a clean install with an update of all the software. I never had a reason to remove Firefox before so, I was suprised when Add/Remove programs would not remove it. I wondered if anyone else had a problem uninstalling version 1.5.0.3.

Well, there seem to be some people who are having problems uninstalling, especially on w98 (ME included).

Whoa, L.A.R. Grizzly, what's that thing? Is there some documentation around? Nice to hear it worked for you. (I might add a link to my KB article once I'll know what it's for.)

Hmmm, that does sound rather vague! But then again, it worked for you... To be or not to be... hmmm...

FatJohn,

I was downloading the latest Nightly and noticed a windows-xpi folder. Being the curious creature that I am, I investigated. Upon investigating, I found a folder containing the said Uninstaller Zip file. Being even more curious, I downloaded it and checked its size against the uninstall.exe in my Firefox installation directory. Since the sizes were different, I decided to give it a try. It uninstalled BonEcho leaving behind only the updates folder and my plugins folder in the install directory. By the way, when executed, it asked me if I wanted to uninstall Firefox 1.5. Of course, I went along with it! That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!
