Orbit / Classic - the return

What should the old default theme for Px [circa 0.4 (Linux)] be called when it makes it's appearance on themes.m.o/phoenix

suggestions so far:

  • Classic
  • Px Classic
  • Orbit+Classic
  • Original Phoenix Orbit
  • OrbitCL (OrbitCLassic)

Why not just call it Phoenix?

The browser will be renamed anyway, this can be our nice little legacy.

Well, I still think it should contain "Orbit" in the name, since that's what it originated as.

"Phoenix Orbit" or "Orbit Phoenix".

Maybe this thread should be made sticky?

I second that.
"Phoenix Orbit" or "Orbit Phoenix".

Or Orbit+Phoenix? (to make it look a bit like Orbit 3+1)

I'll agree with Phoenix, Phoenix Orbit takes away from the whole nostalgia schtick :(.

If I were to choose one of the combo's though, it would be Phoenix Orbit. That tells you that the theme was Orbit for Phoenix instead of the other way around.

Anybody know what the names going to be in 0.6?

I don't know, is it really decided that it will be renamed? I understand it might be renamed.
When we have a few more ideas maybe we can do a little vote...

Yes.

Yepp, it's decided by now (0.5 Milestone is officially the last to be called Phoenix, but the decision was even before 0.5 teh devs just wanted a bit more time to choose the right name)

Another pity. I just hope they go for "Salamander" then.
However, in that case "Phoenix" sure is an attractive option - as long as we don't run into the same legal problems.
As to the reference to Orbit...... Well, it was Phoenix' original default, so it is very attached to that name I think. If I was the Orbit developer, I think I'd be happy with a clear reference to my work in the readme.
I'm trying to say: I vote "Phoenix" then, too ;)

The name should have "Orbit" in it, because that's the original name of the origin theme, and people will probably do searches for "orbit" to try and find it. The full name should *start* with this.

The name should have some indicator that it is a "classic" (i.e., retired from default) theme.

The name should probably indicate it was/is specific to the "Phoenix" releases.

I would vote for "Orbit Px Classic", or just "Orbit Px".

"Orbit/Phoenix" would be my (distant) second choice.
