Can't Uninstall Firefox

Post by bvarianlvr »

Good morning. I'm trying to uninstall Firefox, but can't do it by either the uninstall.exe, nor the Control Panel.

I did happen to see the uninstall.exe the other day and clicked on it a few times, but nothing ever worked. I remembered the CP App Remover, so I tried that, and it failed as well. I figured it was my Windows installation, but I removed another app with no problem, so it must be something wrong with my Firefox uninstaller.

Does anyone know how I can uninstall my application?

Thanks,
Jonathan

I have exactly the same problem as yourself.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Thanks.

Guys, when you ask for technical help, you don't call the repair shop and say that help, my car doesn't work! Nope. Instead you blurt that your 2004 Alpha Romeo 37 GTi wears it tires too soon!

Version numbers is what I'm after, pleez... Windoze & Firefox

Thanks, guys! I'll try this at home tonight!!!

Does anyone have problems with Firefox 1.5.0.4 and the current Shockwave and Flash plugins?

Yep, me too.

Click on FireFox in "Add - Remove" or through CCleaner "Tools" http://www.ccleaner.com/ and nothin happens.
I see that an "uninstall" command is running in Task Manager but thats it.

Win XP sp2, FireFox 1.5.0.4

Thanks

Also be sure to remove your Profiles as these are not usually removed under normal uninstal, unless that uninstaller you downloaded had a special setting to remove everything. Otherwise, any corrupt data, Plugins, Bookmarks, Extensions, Themes, etc will remain hiden ready to be loaded back into any fresh installs of Firefox Mozilla maybe Netscape.

On XP it is
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator (Or User Name)\Application Data\Mozilla

Delete that whole folder

I had this problem too........but i have installed a software called "your uninstaller 2008" ............................All you have to do is download it from the web for free and with the help of it uninstall mozilla firefox........But it will still run so delete the firefox manually ...since your registry entries have been deleted by this software.........You can't do anything beyond this........ :D

How about looking at the date before you reply? Locking due to age.
