Screen Shots?

Post by ShadowGod »

How do I take screen shots? This problem has been plaguing me for quite a while even though this is probably very simple. Your help is greatly appreciated.

If your using windows, press the 'print scrn' key, then paste into a image editor of your choice...
Paint shop, photoshop (if ya rich), or whatever you use for images.

Once you crop the image to size you can host it at www.imageshack.us and use the link to add the image to say here at the forums.

There are various software you can use for things like screen shots, such as the popular http://www.irfanview.com/ or http://www.xnview.com/

I was going to suggest that one but you beat me to it. Quite a good tool.

Here's a long list of free screen capture programs available at snapfiles.com (ranked by popularity):

The GIMP can also take a screenshot for you, which is helpful if you need to edit it afterwards (but overkill if you just want to take the screenshot). (I can't believe I only clued into this earlier today. D'oh!)
