firefox lost my themes, homepage, and settings
last night the tv and comp both turned off and rebooted within a second. i thought the power went out, but the lights were on the whole ime, it was just the things in one outlet.
so today i open firefox and it opens to engadget.com which is one of my bookmarks but was not my homepage. my themes are gone, and my extensions! actually no i just looked, my themes are still there, but it is reset to the default, my extensions however are gone!
so what happened and how can i fix it. luckily i have a profile backup albeit a month old, on another harddrive.

Probably a power spike.
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Lost_bookmarks
Goto your profile and remove following files:
extensions.ini
extensions.rdf
extensions.cache
compatibility.ini - if available
localstore.rdf
Be sure that FF is closed while doing this. All the files mentioned are recreated. You may have to recreate some settings.

Did you find the correct folder?
Type "%APPDATA%/Mozilla/Firefox/" in start -> Run to find your profile. It is not unheard that the profile template in the FF installation folder was found.

Are your extensions still in the profile? (in the extensions folder)
Do you have more than one profile?
You have removed the mentioned files?
Your profile and everything in it is not write protected?
Already tried safe mode and enabled the extensions from there?

To which one do you refer?
If there is no parent.lock file in the profile you are looking at while FF is running it is not the active profile.
You can still make a new profile.

If you can't find the profile folder then see this:
http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic ... 58#2176058
But be quick as every day you will lose one of the backups in the bookmarkbackups folder (there are 5).
