Hi all,
I've been researching like crazy and I've read the FAQ/guide over at http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=206213 , but for the life of me, I cannot get Media Player to work inside of Firefox. I continue to get the 'missing plugin' message and when I take a look at 'about:plugins', none of the Media Player stuff you would expect is listed. I've also tried copying the .dll files to my plugins folder (though I had to download these since c:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\ didn't have them).
I recently did a reinstall/format, so that's why this problem has come up. I'm stuck at this point and would appreciate any advice. Have already reinstalled both Firefox and Media Player. I'm on an XP Media Center machine...all the latest Windows updates.
I've read all the posts-can't get Media Player workin in FF

There's an OLD version of the Windows Media Player plugin that's still offered by Microsoft that reportedly works in Mozilla browsers, including Firefox:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/window ... lugin.aspx
Windows Media Player Plug-in for Netscape Navigator
(The "Download Now" link goes to "wmpplugin.exe" which you should save to your desktop or other location, then double-click to install the plugin.)
If installing wmpplugin.exe doesn't help, take a look here:

Thanks Alice! Installing the old plugin seemed to resolve the problem.
