Connection refuse

Post by Dragon__Warrior »

I just installed FB and it can't connect to any website. I tried connecting to sites with IE and Netscape and it works, so it's not my internet connection. But I do have a linksys router, so maybe the internal firewall is blocking it? If it is, anyone know which port FB uses?

Could it be your proxy setting?

Surely it uses the default ports for the protocol. I think that's 80 for http isn't it?

FB port

My proxy (and many proxies) use "localhost" and port 8080

Look in Tools/Options/General/Connections and try these settings in the HTTP window.

Hey, I'm sorry, but I can't think why this is happening. All the above work normally for me and I'm behind a firewall too.

Hopefully, the experts will chime in soon...

meanwhile, where can I download that theme from?

If you're not sure what your proxy settings should be in windows, go to control panel/internet options (or use the same setting in the IE tools menu). Go to the connections tab and click on the advanced LAN settings option under proxy server. Take whatever is set up in that panel and put the same things in your Firebird options/general/connection settings.

If there's nothing there, then you probably don't need any proxy settings.
