What sort of man would put a known criminal in charge of a major branch of government? Apart from, say, the average voter.

To all moderators, Please consider this a Moderation Request.

A serious problem seems to be developing in most of the fora where Guests are allowed to post, any semblance of decorum seems to be out the door. The level of offensive words being used is at all time high (? low) and the stubbornness of some guests in regards to help rendered with issues regarding software not associated with Mozilla - meaning firewalls - is getting out of hand. Also, too many regular MZ members are receiving verbal abuse from guests when the guest isn't happy with the answer given.

IMHO, you guys need to issue more warnings and enact more IP bans (I have seen only one ban since 1.5.0.5 was released and this problem got so bad {in my perspective]) to try to get things back into control, specifically in the Firefox Support forum. Overall you all have been doing a good job with locking threads that are getting out of control, but there seems to be a lack of moderators available at certain times of the day. If you need more moderators drop me a PM.

IMO, MozillaZine may be reaching the point where Guest postings aren't permitted; read-only unless you're registered - something for Kerz to ponder.

IP bans are fairly ineffective. Guest posting will probably never be disabled. If we need to increase moderator presence in those areas, then we should do that.

IMHO, the problem is mainly with the Firefox Support forum. Thunderbird Support gets a few, but they are handled. Seamonkey Support is not a problem and neither is Miscellaneous Support. I know there are many times that I'm the only one here and I do try to watch the FF Support forum as well as the rest, but it would be very nice if you would help us by pointing out problematic topics as well. I can't personally go through every topic in every forum. There just isn't enough time for that.

In the high traffic times about ten new threads open while reading/answering one thread. It is sometimes annoying but in these times i can only scan the subjects to decide which thread to read.
Think for yourself. Otherwise you have to believe what other people tell you.
