Amazing way to speed up Minimo!!!

Talk about Mozilla browsers for small devices such as PDAs and cellphones.

I like minimo but it has been too slow for me. But if you use this free program it will speed it up big time.

Install upx on your device and compress the minimo.exe file. It takes a couple mins but the difference is NIGHT and DAY.

I tried UPX on minimo once but couldn't get it to launch after.. Might have to try it again.

WOW, just tested it with a nightly build...

Original 7.5 MB time from click to loading Google 57 seconds
UPX -9 2.6 MB time from click to loading Google 27 seconds

That is on my PPC- 6700.. Hmm I might actually use Minimo now.

BTW the new logo and interface are looking good..

27 seconds... On par with the build I compressed my self so yes it is a HUGE improvement over the standard build... Seems overall more responsive than the last nightly I tried as well

it's working fine for me too except that there is a problem when login to services while using a proxy : http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic ... 94#2499794

This is AWESOME. I just installed Minimo for the first time today and supplemented it with UPX4PPC. Using the Max Compression setting, the load time has reduced SIGNIFICANTLY.

The speed is much faster than .016. The only thing is that pop ups slow everything down. There needs to be a pop blocker if thats not too much to ask. Also, when I try and access the nightly builds through minimo, it doesn't work. I have to use pocket IE :( Thanks and keep up the great work. I don't no what microsoft was thinking when they made pocket IE.

Seems to work fine. I'm using a Toshiba e750 and on the whole Minimo is great for browsing.
