I have just created and launched a new internet connection for myself via an ethernet proxy. Everything works fine, exept that Firefox will not open secure websites (i.e. those "https://" sites). Obviously this includes Gmail. When trying to access secure sites, Firefox returns a "server not found" error page. All non-secure ("http://") sites open fine, and Internet Explorer opens everything, both secure and non-secure sites, including Gmail, just fine.
How do I get Firefox to open secure sites? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Firefox won't open secure websites

Think for yourself. Otherwise you have to believe what other people tell you.

Interesting that this page recommends disabling SSL 2.0 for security reasons yet it is enabled in Firefox 1.5.0.7 by default. What is the default setting in Firefox 2.0?

Never mind - answered in this thread:

SSL 2.0 is disabled in Firefox 2.0 but can be turned on if needed using about:config
Comments about the default in Firefox 1.5.0.7 welcomed.
