Firefox 2.0 can't connect to site with older, insecure SSL

Post by ellenrs »

We have a local server with a self-signed SSL certificate. Until I upgraded to 2.0 just a short while ago I could use our in-house applications on this server with no problems.

Now, however, I get this message:

"Firefox can't connect securely to [url] because the site uses an older, insecure version of the SSL protocol."

Is there a work around for this?

In about:config toggle the pref security.enable_ssl2 to true.

You may need to enable other SSL2 prefs too. (filter: ssl2)

Type about:config in the location bar. Enter. Type ssl2 in the filter box at the top.

Thanks! That worked. I enabled them all...and can get to my site. I'll do some selective toggling to find out which ones are truly necessary.
