Pop up Surveys

Post by adriank999 »

Sorry if this is the wrong forum but does anyone know how to stop the pop surveys that seem to afflict almost every site I visit?

The pop up stopper is on

Can you give an example site?
Maybe you have some spyware on board, I have no 'pop surveys'

Have AVG spyware installed and run regularly

I have the following which I think should stop all third party cookies

1. Uncheck 'Accept cookies from sites' (same as setting Network.cookie.cookieBehavior to 2 )

2. list acceptable site under [Exceptions]

I usually delete the cookies when I quit Firefox
Just been back to the site and this time I get another of these surveys that float in from the left.
This one took about 20 seconds to appear

Any more thoughts, - I'll run spybot shortly
tks
Adrian

I went to that site and don't see any surveys. I went to the comment page where there was a survey on dog/cat fur. I clicked on it and the survey window popped up. These are my pop up settings in about:config

Hi Robert and Adrian

My set up is similar (network.hosts.pop_server) is an email thing not a popup thing

My settings are all default i.e the two 'false' values are set to 'true'

Still I get no popups
