official win32 Build 20031113 is out

Post by jensemann »

Hi world,

latest build works fine for me copying over previous release and profile after killing once with the taskmanager, I am able to open "tools-> options" without an error.

System: P3,500, W2k, Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.6b) Gecko/20031113 Firebird/0.7+

PS: seems to me, I was the first with this release this time:-))

Just installed it WFM. The Tools > Options bug seems to be gone for me anyway.

Bug Appears Fixed

Post by ara »

Downloaded and installed 11-13-03 with a completely clean profile and clean install folder (did not copy it over old copy), and the "Tools>>Options" bug appears to no longer be present. Will continue testing to look at download dialogue bug and other minor pieces.

At the moment, it works for me.

I'm running:
Firebird 0.7+ 20031113
Windows XP Professional
Intel Celeron 1.1 GHz
512 Meg PC133

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.6b) Gecko/20031113 Firebird/0.7+
.exe version is still totally crashing on Options.

Should there be a difference between the zippped/installer version of today ?
They were uploaded only minutes apart

Hi,

I used the zipped one, not the installer....

tools -> options crashes for me just like before.

also, after i kill it with task manager and restart, tools -> options -> downloads, the drop-down menu to choose where to install downloaded files no longer shows up. which is something that was happening before too.

I downloaded both the

http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/ ... dSetup.exe
and
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/ ... -win32.zip

and installed them.

After reboot I tried both... with same result .... C R A S H

The eveil options bug of doom WAS fixed, but I don't think the checkin made todays build. Tomarrow's (or any custom builds made after approximately now) should have this fix though.

Using an old profile, the 11-13 official (zip) demonstrated the same tools/options bug. Earlier I tried MadmanNova's 11-13 auto build with the same results.

Please check the timestamp before you download. The mirrors do not all get populated at the same time, so you might download yesterday's build.

Checking the timestamp sounds like a good idea, but please explain this ... I just downloaded the official Win32 20031113 build, timestamped 1317, from ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firebird/nightly/latest-trunk. After installing it (I moved the old folder to a temporary location and replaced it with the new unzipped folder) I looked at the site again, and the file was now timestamped 1817.

Whether I use a new profile, or my old one, the Tools > Options bug is still present. As has been cited by others, after killing Firebird with Task Manager and restarting, Options works normally.

General Browsing is working well for W/98, but I got hung up on Tools/Options in testing ...
