Firebird does not remmeber

Post by Guest »

Hi, i have enabled cookies and all for my browser, but everytime i browse to www.soccernet.com the page will ask me to set my region i.e. Asia/Europe etc. This happens even after i have selected it, and as far as i know the browser is supposed to remember my choice using cookies.

Please help.

Thank you.

I also have the same problem. Firebird will not log me into any site one I completly close the browser. It is acting like I have "for this session only" even though it is not checked. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled firebird and it still does not work. I have installed it on another computer and everything works fine. Both systems are XP SP1 with all patches applied.

Is your cookies file marked "read-only"?

What build are you using?
(help->about mozilla firebird). Something like:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6a) Gecko/20031021 Firebird/0.7+

There is a bug in 0.7 so that whitelist is overrided by session cookies.
i.e. if you're accepting session cookies only, whitelist has no effect.

upgrade to a more recent build if you're on 0.7

you can try the one i'm using:
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/ ... -win32.zip

No particular reason for recommending this one over others. Its just the first official nightly build after the cookie whitelisting bug was fixed.
