Oops, I hit a little bump today when updating (TB27100289G), first one in 12 days. Other than that, 2.0.0.1 is a huge improvement stability wise, thanks and good job on that, I'd say.

chob wrote:OK so if bug 360493 [Firefox:Password Manager]-Cross-Site Forms + Password Manager = Security Failure [All] isn't fixed for 2.0.0.1 i should probably remove it from the fixlist right? :)

The bug's patch to create the new pref "signon.prefillForms" was checked in Dec. 4. The patch to flip the pref to "false" (new behavior) was checked in Dec. 7. The bug is not marked fixed, but the "better" fix in 2.0.0.2 might come from another bug.
Dec. 8 the pref was flipped back to "true" (old behavior). So the pref is true in all past and future rc's for 2.0.0.1.

mozilla.dev.planning:
We have final candidate builds and are wrapping up QA, but will not be
able to hit the original release date... the new tentative release date
for Firefox/Thunderbird 1.5.0.9 and Firefox 2.0.0.1 is *Tuesday,
December 19*.

More info about the release can be found at
http://wiki.mozilla.org/Firefox:1.5.0.9 ... :Community

Thanks!
- Jay

Firefox 2.0.0.1 now has an rc3, with en-US dated 12-Dec, but I didn't notice any checkins that would make it different from rc2. I am not a Mozilla engineer. ;)

RC3 Win build = RC2 Win build.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.1) Gecko/20061204 Firefox/2.0.0.1 ID:2006120418
maybe check-in for Linux and/or Mac build.

You could download the 2.0.0.1 RC if you are really desperate. Since they are going to be the same thing, byte for byte.

Mozilla almost always releases on a Tuesday, so I pretty much expected a push to the 19th. I wonder why they even bothered saying the 14th.

Still, a RC3 was created so something must have been changed. Right?

Wait, there's a 1.5.0.9 ? What warranted that minor bump ?

The last Linux checkin was already in RC2, I think.
Bug 363054, Ctrl-Shift Keyboard Shortcuts broken (2006-12-07 17:43).

But there was finalizing the default state of that new MySpace (:)) pref, signon.prefillForms.
(2006-12-07 16:24).

Language localizations? Apparently unrelated modules actually in the Win build?

Or maybe somebody just hit the respin button on Windows, or forgot to hit it for RC2:

Code: Select all

Actually, read the recent comments in Bug 202315, "remove debug UI from final release branches," checked in Dec. 12. It's a Mozilla Suite Win2000 bug, but affects Thunderbird. Maybe Firefox too?

is there a way to modify the update channel of Firefox to advance from RC to RC, using the built-in updater?
