Use Charamel in 2.0+

Post by retsub »

Install the "Mr Tech Local Install" add-on .. it lets you override version checking and install pretty much whatever you want.

HOWEVER .. if you decide to install charamel into ff 2 for your own amusement you will witness the importance of version checking.

Since most things render great (except some of the most important like Tools|Options and Tools|Addons) that *may* indicate minimal modding is required to bring it up to code. Since lucx appears permanently uninterested, can there be some benevolent being out there that will carry the torch?

I'd do it if I weren't so f* lazy, honest.

The other option is to modify the install.rdf and increase the maxVersion value.

I'd update the Charamel theme if I had the skills to do so. About all I'm able to do is bump the maxVersions and add an application to install.rdf to add support for it. I am not a coder or programmer.

Not so easy... Believe me...

Unless you have explicit authorizations from lucx to do it, please don't...

*sigh* i just come back here from browsing the themes repository and it hasn't improved one bit
still crappy and not exactly creative themes as far as the eye can see:
theme 'red' / theme 'blue' / theme 'pink' / ....

that's why i thought i'd stop by here and drop an obligatory *bump* for charamel
(especially miss it for Thunderbird actually, reason i'm still using 1.5 ~.~ )

I'll offer my own free bump, because I really regret the loss of that theme :(

Why not re-code it and call it "sweet brown", something like that, then ? :-/

Very excited about this even though the latest version does come with a few glitches on 2.0.0.4.
No. 1 Apparent conflict with CuteMenu Crystal SVG Addon.

There are other small glitches which I hope will dissolve with support and encouragement.
Never let them see you sweat

YAY!! welcome back charamel :)

bcool: of course you can't expect theme altering things like that to work on a theme
that's styled through to the last checkbox; you can hardly call that an incompatibility
(it's blasphemy anyway to use any 'add-ons' on it)

This is so awesome! I got a problem with my pages jumping up and down, though. Anyone else here?
