No one has reported how to yet, but, since it is based on OE, you could try that option. I won't guarantee it. If it works, please let us know.

That's too bad. Hopefully someone will come up with a way soon.

What type of files does it use to store the messages? If it uses *.dbx then you could use one of the existing tools to convert *.dbx files to mbox files (which Thunderbird uses).

OK, according to a book I got on Vista, Windows Mail stores the messages in individual .eml files. If this is indeed true, MboxImport can import them. I do not know yet where they are stored though.

What does that have to do with the new Windows Mail? Outlook Express is not even in Vista.

Did you try MboxImport to import the .eml files? I'm just curious.

MboxImport doesn't work. but there is a simpler way:
1. Open Outlook Express (I think your friends have it still on their xp systems) and drag-n-drop all *.eml files from Windows Mail store directory to Outlook Express folders. by doing this all your emails will be in Outlook Express mail folders.
2. Import Outlook Express messages to Thunderbird.

sergey, did you try MboxImport? If those files are truly .eml files, then MboxImport can import them.

If you are trying to import messages from Tbird to Windows Mail, I have no idea how to do that but would very much like to find out! If, however, you wanna export from WM to somewhere else it's very easy hit me up and I'll tell how.

Please try the MboxImport extension. Since Windows mail stores mail in the .eml format and MboxImport can import .eml files, it should work.

Importing from Windows Mail to Thunderbird using MboxImport works perfectly.

Thanks Daifne!
