What are XPC.mfl and XUL.mfl ?

Post by Lucas Malor »

I would know what are the files

XPC.mfl and XUL.mfl

in the directory

Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\profilename

and if I can delete them without problems (I'm using an account at university with limited space).

If you delete them then Firefox will recreate then on the next start.
Those are cache files for extensions (XUL) and components (XPC).

What kind of extensions and components are those?
Is there a way to redirect them?
N.B. I already found a way to redirect the cache and profile.
But the XPC.mfl and XUL.mfl files seem to be large files.
Firefox Rox!!

The size depends on how many extensions that you have installed because those files cache info about extensions and the default (xul, chrome) files in Firefox.
You could do without them, but that would slow down Firefox as that info need to be compiled every time it's needed.
