shockwave not working, even with registry patch

Post by Torpedojager »

I have been trying to install shockwave for ages and I am tempted to switch back to IE since it's annoying the heck out of me. My last install was with the installer that is being tested now. When I install Shockwave it recognizes Firebird. But after the install Firebird still asks what to do with *.swf files. The files np32dsw.dll and ShockwavePlugin.class are in my plugin folder. What else has to be done to get it working????

Macromedia recommends using this swUninstaller.zip to un-install
all current versions, then do a fresh install of Shockwave.

Ok I uninstalled Shockwave and firebird and removed all references to shockwave, mozilla and firebird from my registry. After this I installed Firebird with the latest nightly installer and I installed shockwave. And for some reason it will still not play *.swf files. Any other ideas??????????

.swf files are flash movies. You need the flash player, not shockwave.
