Haven't updated htis in forever. I know the title still says Firebird, because I left it so--this thread is OLD and was only about Firebird builds.

I'll have a new thread up when I get everything straightened and uploaded.

See the most recent post by me (as of 20040214T00:41-06:00), page 8, post 1, for information on NEW builds by me. Finally. Firefox 0.8 Release, with MNG/JNG support, YES!

Files are 7zip self-extracting (so you do not need to install anything zip-related). They unzip the program into directory "MozillaFirebird".

WFM. I have noticed a slight slowdown, but that could be anything from the fact I've now got the SVG build installed to me installing winamp 5 earlier.

Thanks Mike!

Thanks Mike, this one (SVG) is better than the last one.
The print problem with frames[0].print(); is gone too.

I'm liking the SVG build here on win2k. The official 20031216 kept hanging on a 3 meg virus definition update but worked fine with this build.

Speedy :) I haven't downloaded a new firebird build in about a week. I don't know if it has anything to do with your patches, or changes to the firebird core but the menus and options panel are loading/closing faster now.

I was having some problems with this build remembering options I set in the options panel. For instance, I unchecked 'resize large images..." under Advanced, closed and re-opened and it was checked again. Same thing when I changed my download folder. But after a few tries, it finally stays how it should. I wonder what is up with THAT?

Much better build description up there ;)

BTW, Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6b) Gecko/20031217 Firebird/0.7+ (Nova: MNG,DOMi,Venkman) works for me.

Mike, as I just read that a 0.8 branch was cut from the trunk. What route will your build take:

go with the branch or with the trunk?

What do you think? Personally, I'd rather stick with trunk, but if you guys want a branch build with just MNG, DOMi, and Venkman, (and maybe a few patches) I'd be very glad to pull an extra tree and configure a third buildscript to build 0.8 branch ones for a while. (I am sooo not getting rid of my branch-based trees.) Just need some time one either tonight or tomorrow and I can have it done if you want. Which patches would you like on it if I were to do it?

Check the link again guys, Madman just posted 12/18 builds from the 0.8 branch labeled as "Firebird08..." Check it out to see the new XPInstall UI and check out the fixes.

I say one guy pick trunk, one pick branch, and if more than 2, they can choose different optimizations. They need to get together and choose some common baseline for builds. That way not any one person is overloaded, and people here all get a bigger choice of similar builds from the varying sources, plus it helps improve the product faster. Just need to get heads together for common ground and common naming/posting conventions to keep things as simple as they can be for all this.

I would agree with sasquatch, but hell, it was easy applying the experimental patches to 0.8 and doing that too. I don't really do much work unless there's a breakage or if I need to apply new patches.

All I do usually is just go to Start->Run, and then type "nightlybuild.bat" and there it goes. Then I post in the morning if I can.

12/18 builds up.

EDIT: QUESTION ANSWERED!

Nevertheless:
Pierre Chanial landed the final fix for the Right Click on Bookmarks bugs (see your link above)!! BUT ONLY ON THE TRUNK. He told that fix would make the whole UI much more responsive.

Mike,
if you stay to build from the trunk, please remove our experimental bookmark patch
if you choose to build from the branch, can you update the patch to the final one?

Ah. Yeah. MozJF still has 0.7+ still labelled on his builds. (Ah, but you already just now got the answer to that. ;p )

I reversed the patch on all my builds, then got the diffs for the checkin and applied it to the 0.8 branch edition. I'll respin new 12/18 builds now. I'll modify the top post with the new patch information right now.
