Predictive Text in Google Search Field

How do I turn it off? I've been through all the options and can't figure out how to clear out your search terms history from the google search field. Plus prevent it from recording search terms moving forward. Please help! Thank you.

Options -> Web features -> Saved Form Information
Press clear.

I am not felling the predictive text, yet it wont go away. I've tried everything from closing windows and tabs to reinstaling. It is a menace. How can I permantly close it?
