Japanese language support

Post by bakreule »

Hello, I'm running Firebird .7 on Gentoo Linux kernel 2.6.0

I've compiled support for the Japanese character set in the kernel, but whenever I load a japanese page, I still see nothing but funny little characters (That AREN'T Japanese ;))

I've goggled for some answers, but I can't find anything that'll let me install another language into Firebird. Do I have to use the Japanese build? Is it possible to add support for another language in Firebird?

Have you got some fonts with the japanese characters present on your system?

Heh, I feel silly.. I assumed that just compiling the codeset into the compiler would work. Never had to deal with other character sets before.... It works now... thanks!
