[MozJF] 20-dec 0.8 installer build.

Post by MozJF »

Hello.

Another installer build from me :)

0.8 sources up to date at 7:30 am mozilla.org time.

For Pentium Pro/2/3/4, Celeron and AMD Athlon/Duron/AthlonXP CPUs

Installing / removing is ok with WinXP-Sp1 and a win98Se. It seems that some win98 users are seeing bad bugs with installer builds (while trying to uninstall them). Don't see it while testing.

You can find it here - a 6.1 Mb file

http://pryan.org/firebird/mozjf/

Notes :

- I found a workaround to get all start menu links working (see there : http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=229036#c3)
- Progress bar is still empty while installing FB components (trying to find why).

Good download, and remember : if it breaks your computer, don't shoot me, but Ben :)

Bugs as noted for URL drop down, and progress bar.
Didn't have bug on license options, only on selectable at a time.

Not a bug but there was no option to install Icon on quickbar in WinXp, so it created a new icon there without asking.

No problem with start menu links.

For links, I used a workaround (as noticed in comment #3 of bug #229051)

URL drop down ? Not a bug, a feature :[

Anyway, I hope it will work for you :)

Hey you can now safely go back to clicking to your heart's content on that pesky liitle arrow in the add-bookmark window!

Also, in case anyone cares, it appears .8 is preserving bookmark icons. At least to some extent. I'm running a older build in parallel and it appears to keep the icons across builds now.

Installer installs into 'mozilla firebird' instead of 'mozillafirebird'. Also got an error with msvcp71.dll (or was that msvcr71.dll). Not sure which, can't quite reproduce it again. This build also starts up much slower than the old builds I've used. That might be going from the Athon SSE build to this install build.

I'm having no problems with this build. Everything seems to be sweet.

I chose to install it in c:\temp and that's exactly where it installed. It created no subdirectory for itself as one would expect, such as mozillafirebird etc.

However, it is working for me otherwise.
