How to resume a partial download using PART file?

Hello,
I am not sure if it is the right place for posting this problem. If I am mistaken, I hope someone out there will transfer my post to appropriate people. Well, the problem is that I started downloading a software having size about 400 MB with DownThemAll (Firefox extension). The download was interrupted during the process for some reason. Its entry has been removed from the DTA download manager. Now I see that it has placed a PART file which is worth 300 MB. I am wondering if I can resume this download by using this PART file as it will save my precious bandwidth. Can anybody please tell me how to resume this partial download having a PART file? Thanks in advance, Regards. I've been told that the "DownThemAll!" extension can do that:

He's already using that. Try http://www.downthemall.net/?page_id=64 What sort of man would put a known criminal in charge of a major branch of government? Apart from, say, the average voter.
"Terry Pratchett" Yes, I am already using DownThemAll and I have tried to resume the download but haven't been successful so far.

"Terry Pratchett" Maybe the server does not support resume download?
400 megs isn't very big.. just download it again
![]() add-ons ought not take advantage of ignorance
Next time use a serious download manager that supports resume, like Flashget.

It IS completely possible to do that with Firefox itself.
I know it is too late considering the last post on this thread, but I want to share the solution with other people who might have this problem. 1- you have two files on the destination folder. One with the original name and one with an extra ".PART" extension. Move both of these files to some other folder (Move! not copy) 2- Start your download again from the beginning (you have access to the download link, don't you?) 3- Let it download a few bytes, just to have those two files created again, with the exact same name. Now PAUSE this download. 4- Go to the folder where you backed up those old files. Copy both of these files to your download folder and replace the new created files when asked. 5- Now go to Firefox's Downloads form and resume the download. That's it! If you have any problems doing this, you can contact me: *.********@*****.*** You are replying to an elderly thread. Locking.
