MyIE2 & Gecko support...
Read the details here
What do you think? Is it legal, that they've included the Gecko rendering engine?
I'm going to test the whole thing now, sounds interesting.

I like it. Gecko's number one goal was to make people more standards-aware and now that it's in myIE2 and people are going to test it and go "Hey, my site sucks in Gecko." and hopefully will do something about it (like come here). BTW, I wonder if the myIE2 team contacted the Mozilla Foundation at all.

Yes. Would be nice to see that the user can decide between two different rendering engines. I really like the idea, but I didn't see a Gecko implementation. Maybe I'm kinda blind or they haven't implemented it yet. Hmm...
I don't think that they've contacted the Mozilla Foundation. If it were so, everyone would know it. But do we? Let's see, what they do with the Gecko engine in the future.

Must install mozilla control from http://www.iol.ie/~locka/mozilla/mozilla.htm .

This belongs in "building things with mozilla" but only and Admin can move it.
Yes, of course it is legal. We want people to ship the GRE instead of IE.

Well, that's one way for people to interpret it. The other way is "wow, this Gecko thing really sucks, it really botches rendering my website."hao2lian wrote:I like it. What does MyIE2's UA string look like when you flip it to Gecko mode? Or in it's original mode, for that matter?

Of course, they wouldn't be myIE then. They'd be myGecko. Sounds better. Liek you have a pet gecko.
