VPN connection not working properly with Firefox

I have encountered the following problem using Firefox with a VPN connection:
With the VPN connection already active I launch Firefox and attempt to use the host site. The problem is that the connection button on the host site does not work (inactive) when using Firefox as the browser. Thanks for any suggestions

Have you checked with your IT personnel regarding the use of Firefox via the VPN?
