Administrator password required in Vista to run Firefox

Post by coakford »

I need to use the administrator password to run Firefox in Vista OS. This wasn't required when I first installed Firefox, but something changed.

How can I make Firefox run without needing to type the password every time I want to open the browser.

Vista problem. Ask Micro$oft. I'm sure they're glad to help you.

Check the settings of the shortcut that you use to start Firefox and make sure that you do not run Firefox as admin.

Re: Administrator password required in Vista to run Firefox

Ok this how I solved this issue, firstly I selected the save option instead of the run option when I downloaded mozzila. Then I typed firefox from the windows start, search programs and files text box. Then I right clicked the downloaded mozzila and selected properties and selected run as administrator. Then I searched for firefox again in exactly the same way, double click, and it should install the normal way - but with windows administrator rights. Hope this helps others.
